For nearly fifteen years, I have been immersed in various aspects of the industry, including:

Traditional and digital 2D animation, cinematography, video editing, sound capture and design, color correction, illustration, analog to digital film restoration, live music performance and teaching.

I love mining for moments in raw footage. Sometimes a casual aside or an unscripted, natural gesture provides more weight to the subject's story-- and quite possibly to the arc of the entire piece. Knowing when to labor over every precise detail or allowing the piece to reveal itself is a welcome, daily challenge.

To me, kinetic production is akin to exercising regularly: you strive to work different muscles on a daily basis, an endurance inevitably builds, and you (and those around you) grow over time. None of this is accomplishable without the insight and influence of others. We all make our best work when we do it together.

Whether it's an opportunity to work on a short narrative about the utilitarian importance of a bicycle for high schoolers in South Africa or storyboarding and assembling a really wild, abstract animation/video hybrid animal, I'm there.
